The final session for 2015 of the University of Auckland Arthritis Education Series will be held on Saturday 19th September – see attached flyer.
Here is a bit of background about the presentations to whet your appetite.
The Nutrition presentation by Rachel Goodger and Tara Mackenzie, Final Year Dietetic Students (MHSc (Nutrition Dietetics)),
will include Key strategies and nutrients for joint health, inflammation, myths, alternative therapies and gout.
Daniel O’Brien, Physiotherapy lecturer, PhD Candidate, AUT University.
Daniel will discuss aspects of exercise, why it helps, the benefits of exercise, patients and clinicians beliefs about exercise, how to get into exercise, what is good and what is not, and from Daniel’s Masters research how to stick with it once you start.
Arthiritis New Zealand have their annual appeal in the last week of September, and if you know of anyone who would be happy to spare an hour or two to help them at that time that would be very much appreciated.
