Pilates is fantastic for functional strength, posture, injury prevention and rehabilitation. 

All our Pilates classes are mat based class so there will be complicated equipment to use. Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and will help you rehabilitate from an injury, prevent further pain and injury and also improve your performance if you are involved in any sport. The exercises will gradually get more complex and challenging as you improve and progress though the course from beginner to advance. We will be running two courses with two different highly qualified and experienced instructors at different times of the day, so hopefully there is a course at the right time for you. All classes will run in blocks of six weeks enabling you to progress from beginner to advance safely and correctly, learning new techniques as you go. There will be no more than 6 people in each class, ensuring attention to detail. Call or email us to book your spot.

Redmond O’Mahony BSc (Hons) Physio, MSc Sports and Exercise Medicine, MPNZ, MSPNZ our resident back pain specialist and expert exercise guru will be leading beginner’s intermediate and advanced courses in STOTT PILATES®.

In this course you will learn how to develop optimal neuromuscular performance by focusing on core stability, while safely balancing muscular strength with flexibility. STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Redmond is an experienced instructor and recommends the class for anyone who needs to strengthen and stretch areas affected by an injury or poor posture. He says it will help you become more in tune with your body helping you better sense areas that are stiff or tight, and areas that may need strengthening.
Redmond will run two six week beginners courses one on a Wednesday  morning and the other on Monday lunch time.

We are lucky to have Alison Rainbow BA (Hons) Phys Ed, MCSP, BAA join our team. She has a degree in physical education and trained as a physiotherapist in the UK, she is a REPS endorsed NZ qualified personal trainer, massage therapist, weight loss, stress management, wellness and exercise consultant and acupuncturist.

Alison is trained in the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) method of Pilates. Alison will guide you through a 6 week beginners Core Pilates course, focusing on posture and developing control of your core muscles. Her intermediate functional class will push the core work and further develop strength and balance, while her advance performance class will test you and develop balance, speed stamina and power. Alison will start with two Core courses one on Tuesday evening and one an Saturday mornings
Alison will also be taking bookings for sports and therapeutic massage, individual Pilates and personal training sessions, Wellness, stress management and weight loss programs.
