The activa programme has been created by Activa Health Limited, a subsidiary of the Southern Cross Medical Care Society. Southern Cross is a not-for-profit friendly society that is owned by its 835,000 New Zealand members.

activa is a health management account (like a bank account), exclusively for health- and wellbeing-related transactions, with a member’s card that works like an EFTPOS card and an optional overdraft facility.
